Substitute Policy
Any new players will need to sign up as an Urban Rec Member, acknowledge the waiver and the Code of Conduct online before the game.
If one is playing on our fields without doing this, they are doing so illegally, and will be asked to leave.
SUBSTITUTE PLAYERS ON TEAMS
Captains are responsible for keeping their roster healthy. From time to time this means finding substitute players to join. Anyone is welcome to play with Urban Rec so long as they are on the roster and have completed their online profile.
There is no additional fee required for substitute players on a team.
SUBSTITUTE PLAYERS ON INDIVIDUAL TEAMS
Although our individual teams are assigned with enough players for the season, sometimes people cannot make it. The Captain is responsible for maintaining a healthy roster. Anyone is welcome to play with Urban Rec individual teams so long as they are on the roster and have completed their online profile.
There is no additional fee required for substitute players on an individual team.
SUBSTITUTING ONTO TEAMS WITHIN OTHER LEAGUES
It is encouraged for our members to take advantage of our free subs group on Facebook. Finding another league and team to play with on a regular basis is a great perk of being an Urban Rec member.
SUBSTITUTING ONTO TEAMS WITHIN YOUR OWN LEAGUE
Players must not borrow players from opposing teams competing in the same league. This can affect the league's integrity by creating a pool of players and not enough variety in the teams. Doing so will result in a forfeit, see below for more details.
FORFEITING DUE TO IN-LEAGUE SUBS
If you do not have the minimum number of players to field a team according to your sport’s rules, your team might choose to borrow players from another team within the league in order to have a game played, but it will be a forfeit.
It is then your opponent’s choice if they would like the game to be played as a;
-
forfeit legit (the opponent agrees for the recorded score to be the actual game score)
-
forfeit friendly (score is a loss for your team with the score recorded according to our forfeit and default policy).
For more information about forfeits and defaults, please see our policy.
