League Integrity Policy

NO FINALS

Urban Rec has confidently chosen to not host, or run finals, or play-offs. The way the winner is decided, is by the performance of the team, over the course of the entire season. Each game played therefore contributes to the teams overall success in the league. This stops teams from strategically ‘recruiting’ players to join for a final game.

The standings table

Urban Rec standings table is counted by wins, and losses as a percentage. If two teams are tied on the ladder, the team with the highest fun point rating will default to the higher position on the table, and therefore become the winner.

The win percentage

Points for/against do not count on Urban Rec standings table instead we use a win percentage. That means if a team who has played less games than others enters the league they are measured on the success of each game played, rather than overall for/against scores.

subsitute players

Teams must not borrow players from teams competing in the same league unless otherwise agreed by the opposing team. Using sub players from within your league could result in a forfeit friendly game being played.

Seeding & managing skill levels

Within some leagues we experience a vast range of skill levels. If this skill level is affecting the integrity of the league, if this happens within your league we may make the following changes.

  • Reseed the league in the final weeks so the top teams play other top teams and the bottom teams play one each other.

  • Ask more intermediate/recreational teams to change to a new venue, location, night either during or after the season
